Finding the Best Infant Car Seat

Levi Quinn asked:

Parents with infants often worry about the safety of their infant babies each time they go out with them. Prior to buying a seat for their infant baby, the first thing a parent should do is to conduct a through research. The research should cover things like the age of their baby, the size of the baby and the weight of the baby. When conducting the research, the parent should have all the statistics related to the baby in front of them so that they can keep referring to them every so often. A parent can conduct their research on the internet as there are quite a number of sites that have information regarding infant car seats. Selecting the best car for one's infant bay is not a light decision and hence one should take their time. Choosing the first car seat that comes across one's way can be extremely dangerous.

The purpose of buying a car seat will be defeated if a parent buys a seat that does not fit their infant. When finding the best infant car seat for their baby the parent should look for one that fits their baby. A parent should not waste their time on a car seat if it is not easy to install in the car. If one looks for a car seat that is easy to install they will use it correctly and prevent their infant from falling off and getting hurt. Parents should buy car seats they can get to know within a short time and that they can work with in difficult circumstances like when they are in the dark or when it is raining heavily. It is advisable to choose a seat that comes with extra features as it will help the parent fit their infant into the seat within a short time.

Cost is another important factor to consider when finding a car seat for an infant baby. Most seats that are sold at cheap prices do not have the extra features earlier mentioned and hence give parents a difficult time. This however does not mean that all cheap infant seats are not good. Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) are the best to use instead of shoulder straps. LATCH do not need constant re-adjustment and often give safer installations. Choosing a seat that fits the baby exceptionally well is pointless if it does not fit in the car. Parents should always go for car seats that fit in their car so as not to endanger their infant's life or to make their infants uncomfortable. A good infant car seat should come with a harness of five points. This is because small babies need to be restrained well in their seats. The adjustment of the car seat should be easy to reach if a parent comes across a seat that does not have accessible seatbelt adjustment they should not buy it. In the same vein, parents should also avoid seats that need require them to fasten the belts at the back.

Travel Strollers – How You Can Choose the Best!

Nicky Meintjies asked:

Traveling is fun and parents think that they have to give it up when they have a baby of their own. This is not the case. All you need is a nice travel stroller and that is where we come in. Let us help you find that travel stroller for your future family adventures.

There are many things to look for with travel strollers. Many people are looking at travel stroller systems which make it much easier on you, the parent. These are strollers that have an attachable car seat so that you are prepared for it all no matter which way you travel.

So, how do you go about finding one? Here are a few things that you need to check out first.

Folding for Easy Transportation

The first thing that you'll want to check out on a travel stroller is how it folds up. If it doesn't fold up easily then you don't want it. Trust me on this one. Most travel strollers have three ways in which a company will manufacture the stroller so that it does fold. It will either fold down and the wheels then stay on the ground, wheels fold together and the other parts of the stroller fold in towards you, and last, wheels come up in the air and the seat folds down. Out of these methods, the best is the second method. It doesn't get as messy and you don't have to do a bunch of lifting to get it in a trunk.

Focus on Functionality

Next, make sure that you look at all the functions and the snaps. If it's not that easy to snap then you don't want it. Some of them seem to not have enough snaps. Some trick you into thinking that you have snapped them, but they haven't fully locked which is extremely dangerous. One other function to look at is a place to store your valuables. Some of them are where the child can get to them and are out of your sight.

The next thing you look at is the weight. Some strollers are light and convenient that you can do everything one handed. You don't want something that weighs a lot when you travel. That is just extra weight that you don't need. There might be areas that you can't use a stroller and you'll have to carry it. How much are you willing to carry besides the load of the infant? Many parents will say not much.

Different Models

There are a few different models that you can try. The first is the Maclaren Volo which is wonderful to use. Under the basket is a parent gear. It also has a sturdy frame and is very light weight. Another model is Combi Savvy Soho which has a moveable guardrail, machine washable cushion which is always a plus, and some come with a matching bag. Next, is the Zooper Waltz which is compatible with some infant car seats, comes with a rain shield, and a winter boot.

Those are just a few to name that are really light weight. Now, traveling can be fun.
